I am happy to report that work is well underway to develop the exhibits for our new facility on Commonwealth Pier in the Boston Seaport. based on our collections. We are working with several guest curators to develop the content, and we expect to open to the public on July 1, 2026. This will coincide with the Tall Ships coming to Boston Harbor for the nation’ s 250th anniversary celebration. Additional information on this project, including more detailed information on the exhibits and naming opportunities available in Boston, can be found on our website at www. moaf. org / Boston.
At our October Board meeting, we also added two new trustees. We’ re thrilled to welcome Lynn O’ Mealia and Matthew Perconte to our Board. Lynn is a partner and the director of marketing at Loudon Investment Management, where she has led client development and marketing initiatives since joining the firm in 2010. Matt is a managing director in Protiviti’ s Risk and Compliance practice, the market leader for New York covering the New York City metropolitan area and a member of Protiviti’ s geographical leadership team. Matt replaces trustee Cory Gunderson, also from Protiviti, who was an active and dedicated member of our Board since 2015. Cory supported countless programs and initiatives at the Museum over the last decade, and while he will truly be missed, he expects to continue attending our annual Gala.
Also in October, we were excited to announce that Howard Marks and Oaktree Capital Management, L. P. have donated a complete bound set of Mr. Marks’ memos in honor of the 35th anniversary of his first memo. The set, inscribed by Mr. Marks, has become part our permanent collection. A full compendium of the memos is available on Oaktree’ s website, and a special curated edition, The Best of …, featuring those memos determined to be the most impactful by Mr. Marks is available as well. Each memo in The Best of … is accompanied by a short introduction contextualizing the enduring relevance of his insights in today’ s market environment.
In 2024, Mr. Marks received our Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to the financial community. We are thrilled to house these seminal works within our permanent collection. As the preeminent institution chronicling the evolution of American finance, we are committed to preserving and sharing the ideas that have profoundly shaped markets and investor behavior— and Howard Marks’ memos achieve exactly that.
