Museum of American Finance Opens in Boston

The Museum of American Finance opened its new exhibit headquarters on Commonwealth Pier in the Boston Seaport on Friday, July 3. Hundreds of the Museum’ s supporters— including trustees and donors— joined members of the press and the individuals who worked on the new facility for a full day of preview events on July 1. The day began with a morning press conference and culminated with a
VIP reception at the nearby Seaport Hotel.
James Rooney, president / CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, delivered remarks at the official ribbon cutting ceremony prior to the reception. Other notable speakers that day included Bran Shim, a senior advisor in the Massachusetts Governor’ s Executive Office for Administration and Finance; Anne Rogers Clark, development officer for strategy, partnerships and innovation at the Boston Public Schools; and Boston
Councilmember Edward Flynn, who presented an official proclamation to welcome the Museum to the city.
The Museum’ s opening coincided with the observation of the nation’ s 250th anniversary and preceded the Tall Ships event in Boston Harbor, where the Museum is located.
