MoAF Fall Programming Returns

2026 continues to be a banner year for the Museum, and several thousand people have already visited our new home on Commonwealth Pier in the Boston Seaport. may welcome everyone who is interested in exploring the exhibits and gaining a better understanding of finance.
Our fall 2026 virtual Museum Finance Academy( MFA) has also set organizational records, with 78 high school juniors and seniors joining us from 16 states and four countries. All students who complete this course will earn their certificates in personal finance and be eligible to receive
one of several partial college scholarships. We are thankful to Fitch Group for their multi-year support of this program.
In October, we added our first new batch of artifacts to our exhibits. This includes a rare certificate from the first index mutual fund, on loan from Vanguard, in honor of the fund’ s 50th anniversary( see article, page 5). We also added an exciting new collections acquisition, purchased for the Museum by former MoAF Board Chair Richard Sylla. This letter from John Quincy Adams to his nephew regarding financial advise is now on view in our“ Hub of Innovation” exhibit( see article, page 7).
Now that we’ re open in Boston, we’ ve also restarted our various event series this fall. In October, we hosted our annual Great Crashes walking tour in New York City, as well as a live remote broadcast of The Financial Exchange Radio Show from our Boston Museum. We also have some terrific virtual events coming up, with award-winning author Megan Gorman, in conversation with Bob Pisani, on November 10 and Financial Times reporter Robin Wigglesworth, in conversation with Richard Sylla, on December 3.
The January calendar is also taking shape, with our first event of the new year scheduled with David Booth, in conversation with Bob Pisani, on January 20, and our 10-part virtual“ Retirement A to Z” series with the New York Public Library kicking off on January 19. All are welcome to join us for these programs, and they are all free. Registration is available on our website at www. moaf. org / events.
And, finally, we are excited to announce that our annual Gala will be held at the Ziegfeld Ballroom on March 4, 2027. We have an exciting line-up of honorees, including 74th US Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson( Whitehead Award for Distinguished Public Service and Financial Leadership); Jim McKelvey, cofounder of Square / Block( Financial Innovation Award); and Raymond McGuire, president of Lazard( Lifetime Achievement Award). More information about this event will be posted this month, and we hope to see many of you there.
